It is with regret that the organisers for Tenby Folk Festival announce that the festival will not be held in 2009.

The theft of festival funds incurred at the venues, by the team Wise Music (whom also organise Pontardawe Fesival, Fiddle Festival of Wales, Small Nations Festival) contracted to enact the festival, and embezzlement by the original venue the DeValence Pavilion, during and after the 2008 festival, creating a serious financial deficit are the main causes for the decision taken.  The issues surrounding the theft of substantial sums of money during the 2008 event have to date not been resolved and have heavily impacted on this years proposed festival.

The organisers also feel, irrespective of the excellent acts booked, that due to the financial constraints imposed, the quality of headline artist available this year would not be of sufficient status to satisfy audience desires, nor be in keeping with the high profile headline acts which performed in the previous year.

It is therefore the decision of the organisers; Tenby Folk Festival is postponed until 2010 to enable the organisers to establish a sound financial base and deliver a standard of music festival unrivalled in South and West Wales.
